i finally spent time in Japan and Japan's cultural capital, Kyoto, swept me off my feet......i was sad to say good-bye. but i did.
now i am back in Shanghai preparing another farewell and looking forward to what is always on the other side of a farewell: a new beginning.

I agree. We are dat.
This fan is so ready for the Saints football season and cannot wait to get crunk all the way to the Super Bowl. Again. Also, GO NOLA picked the photo above as their flickr pick of the week. Nice.

the fun part about arriving at Pudong International Airport is taking the Shanghai Maglev Train....it's fast (268mph or 431 km/h) and you get a great view of Shanghai. but i still prefer fast motorcycles and fast cars.

i am not sure how one cannot fall in love with South Korea. i am certainly in love after my first weekend in Seoul. i am already planning my return to the Land of Morning Calm...

finally found the Changdeok Palace, made it up to the Biwan gate (photo above) and i was turned away. i missed the start of the 2-hour guided tours to view the Biwan which is a Secret Garden (an old pleasure garden for royalty back in the day). oh well, being lost in Seoul for the hours before was a blast. Seoul swept me off my feet!

people on bikes and in cars are actually stopping at a cross walk, certainly an-all-too rare occurrence.
while Haibao, my favorite, makes a not-so-rare occurrence lurking in the background.

i noticed the statue of the man with the water umbrella the very first night i arrived to Shanghai. i smiled that night and i smile each and every day i walk by the him.
